Will compression ruin the quality?
No. TinyFile uses a smart re-encode tuned to keep videos visually near-identical while cutting file size. Resolutions above 1080p are downscaled to 1080p. If re-encoding wouldn't make the file smaller, the bot tells you so instead of sending a pointless copy, and the attempt isn't counted.
Telegram says my video is too large to send – what can I do?
Compress it first. Send the video to TinyFile as a file – the bot accepts up to 2 GB – and forward the smaller MP4 it returns. That's usually enough to fit any chat, email, or messenger limit.
Is my video stored anywhere?
No. Files are processed on the fly and deleted automatically right after the result is delivered. Nothing is stored, shared, or used for anything else.
Can I convert the video instead of compressing it?
Yes. Convert → VIDEO has three targets: MP4 at Original, 1080p or 720p with a sound and an HDR switch, GIF of 5 to 15 seconds or a segment you type, and WEBM for web backgrounds. A clip that is already H.264 with AAC audio is repackaged to MP4 without re-encoding, so the picture stays untouched – and unlike compression, capture date, location and rotation are preserved. Can I compress a video to an exact size, like 10 MB for Discord?
Yes. In Compress → Video the keyboard has a row of target sizes: 🎯 Auto, 10 MB, 16 MB, 25 MB and ✏️ Custom, where you type any number of megabytes. The presets are the usual walls – 10 MB for Discord, 16 for WhatsApp, 25 for email – and your choice sticks for the next videos. With a target picked, the bot takes a little longer than on Auto. If the clip is already under your target, or can't reach it without falling apart, the bot says so, suggests the smallest size that would work, and charges nothing.
